Blanko’s guild room is at the bottom of the basement stairs behind the door that opens along Geokatu, between Humus café and the Humanities corridor. You’re in the right place when you see our guild logo on the door. The guild room is also marked on Google Maps and Apple Maps with the search term Blanko ry. Geokatu and Humus can be found on Tuudo’s map.
You are welcome to the guild room during its opening hours. Whether you want to study, work, play games, or just relax with a cup of coffee, we welcome you to stay. Please clean up your messes and don’t break anything! The guild room is open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Note that the guild room is closed during the holidays.
If you want to drink coffee or tea, please bring a mug with your name on it. Blanko does not offer disposable cups. Also, don’t borrow other people’s mugs without permission. You can always make coffee (please do). You can take water from the tap in the kitchen, but let the water run for a second, just in case!
In the kitchen, there is a microwave, a kettle, and a fridge, all for your use. Remember to collect empty bottles and put them in the bottle sea. If the bottle sea is full, place the bottles in a plastic bag near the bottle sea. You can wrap up in a blanket and nap on the sofas when tired. However, do not sleep overnight in the guild room.
Besides sleeping and drinking coffee, you can also read your emails or chat on IRC, either on your computer or Blanko’s public computer. With Blanko’s computer, you can print straight to the university printers. If you like gaming, Blanko has Xbox, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and various board games. Magazines appear occasionally; most often you can find our guild magazine Blankki and other guild magazines.
Blanko’s board meetings are held in the guild room. Feel free to join or read the minutes after. Various events (for example movie and game nights) are organized in the guild room. Check your email and Blanko’s event calendar for those. One of the board members is on duty at Kiltis every Thursday from 13:00 to 14:00. During this time you can, for example, buy overall patches or overalls.
Please remember that the guild room is a shared space and we should all take care of it. It’s important to clean up after yourself. You can also empty the trash cans when they’re full. The outdoor trash cans are in the courtyard behind the Kiltis, and you can find empty trash bags in the kitchen cabinet. If you feel like cleaning, you can dust or vacuum the room. Please do not prop the courtyard door open, as it will trigger unnecessary alarms for the university guards!
Please also check the official rules of the guild room.
